Our topic this term is ‘Journeys’. We are learning about our local area of Chelmsford and discussing how we get to and from school. We will also look at road safety as part of this topic.
Over the course of the term we will expand our geographical knowledge by looking at London and the UK, China, France, Italy, Iceland, America and Ireland. We will be exploring these countries through a series of activities focussing on their traditions, dances, flags and foods, which will be carried out within our classes, our role-play and outdoor areas, including descriptive writing, positional vocabulary and art and craft.
We will be going on a trip later this term to visit the local park where we will put into practice our road safety skills that we have learned and will also look at our own local community and some traditional children’s recreational pastimes.
This term we will be learning about different ways of travelling, during our gymnastic lessons. Our PE days are Monday for Sapphire class and Tuesday for Crystal class. We will also be participating in some ‘Bikeability’ activities, learning how to use a balance bike, and some of us will be representing our school in a ‘Bikeability ‘competition too. It is very important that we remember to take out our earrings, tie our hair back and take off our watches on these days.
We will also be learning about how to program ‘Beebot’, (a programmable robot) to take him on a journey, navigating across some floor mat and on the computer, using a series of instructions that we have given him.
Crystal and Sapphire Classes really enjoy participating in new experiences and we are proud of what we achieve.
Welcome to Crystal Class
We are some of the youngest children at Trinity Road School. Our teacher is called Mrs Burrells, and our teaching assistant is Mrs Wallaker, they help us to learn new skills.
Our PE day is normally on a Tuesday but sometimes we will do it on a Monday with Sapphire Class too. It is important that our PE kit is in school, our hair is tied back and our ear rings are removed on these days please.
We hope to go on some local trips this year and we will update this page when we have the final dates
