Jet class have made a good start to the new year and have already been learning lots in all subjects! Our topic this term is 'The Natural World' where we are finding out about natural features and areas around the world and comparing them to those we have locally. Jet class has adopted an orangutan in Borneo called Timtom; our learning has been focused around finding out about the rainforests where Timtom is living.
Later in the term, we will be learning about rivers and the water cycle. Our Science topic investigates the different states of matter: solids, liquids and gases. We are looking forward to carrying out experiments and investigations.
This term, we will be doing gymnastics and tennis in PE. PE continues to be taught on a Monday and Tuesday. The year 4 students in Jet class will also be going swimming every Friday.
Jet class have made a fantastic start to the year. We believe that we can all achieve and reach our full potential if we persevere and work hard. Our teacher is Miss Saunders and our Teaching Assistants are Mrs Thomson and Mrs Lee.
We have PE on Mondays and Tuesdays. We take our Home Learning home on Fridays and return it the following Wednesday.
In class, we have started the year reading the Iron Man. We have been writing descriptively about the settings and have been practising lots of grammar skills!
Our topic this term is ‘Animals including Humans’, we have been looking at nutrition and the skeleton. As part of this we have planned and made a healthy pizza. We spent the day measuring out the ingredients and working as a team to create pizza dough. In the afternoon we baked and tasted our creations. YUM!
At the start of the year we created a poem together to show our interests.
