Can my child attend Trinity Road Enhanced provision?
We have 20 places in The Language Hub. Priority is given to children with a Statement of Special Educational Need or an Education, Health Care Plan for Speech, Language and Communication as their primary need. Places in The Language Hub are allocated on the basis of need, in consultation with the Local Authority.
Children, who attend Tanglewood Nursery, can request an Early Intervention place in the Language Hub as well as retaining a place in a local Mainstream school. Staff from ’The Language Hub’ will work with parents and the allocated mainstream school in order to plan the best way to meet your child’s needs. An assessment place will usually last for at least a year, but could be up to four terms. After access to The Language Hub, and when your child’s needs have been addressed, they will return to their local mainstream school with some outreach support. If, after one year, it is agreed your child would benefit from a full time place in The Language Hub, an Education, Health and Care plan assessment will be requested.
What does your provision offer my child?
Our pupils have an opportunity to develop their speech, language and communication skills, whilst taking part in all aspects of everyday school with their peers. By offering small groups, experienced and trained specialist teachers and access to a Speech and Language therapist, we aim to support children until they are ready to return to their local mainstream school.
How will I know how my child is getting on?
You will be invited to One-Planning meetings each term. This is an opportunity for the child, parents and professionals to meet together to share information, celebrate success, discuss progress and set new targets and outcomes.
How will my child get to school?
Children who are offered a place and who live more than two miles away from ‘The Language Hub’ may be eligible for free school transport, arranged through Essex County Council.
I’m interested. What should I do next?
