End of the Day Conversation
I’m sure that on collection you are asking them how their day has been, what they have done at school and what was for lunch? For a lot of children, the response will be ‘they didn’t play with anyone, and they do not remember what they did at school or even if they had lunch’. Please do not worry this is a normal response at the end of their day, although on occasion worrying for you as the caregiver as you to try to decide if your child has no one to play with, hasn’t completed any work and not eaten all day! You could change this around by telling your child about your day first, tell them two or three good things about your day, however small they maybe, then go onto asking your child to tell you two good things about their day as well, again these can be very small. This will help to take the pressure off your child and focuses on the positive of their day!
Please come and chat with me about any concerns you have about your child or family, I am always hear to listen and help if I can.
